  • IWC Big Pilot 5002

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering which IWC Big Pilot 5002 movement would be better to get. The slow beat or transitional model? Anyone kind enough to give some advice about this? Would really appreciate it! Thanks! (:

The higher the bph/vph (beats per hour/vibration per hour), the higher the wear and tear (shorter service intervals), but also the better the accuracy.

The Big Pilot ref 5002 has 18,000 bph, which by today's standard, is very rare. The concern with higher wear and tear associated with higher bph has been largely compensated by advance lubricants used these days.

Personally, if i had to choose, it would be the 18,000 beat version. i am a total sucker for all things traditional and old fashion.
