What a pleasant surprise, SEIKO's best selling entry level Prospex 200 meter divers fondly referred to as the 'turtle' has given birth to a whole new series of 'baby turtles'. The casing has been re-contoured to still retain the turtle cushion wing sides which was the reason for them being affectionately referred to as the turtle. It spots a redesigned dial, what appears to be a new bezel grip pattern design, a date magnifier or cyclops on the hardly crystal, a smaller crown (obviously) now reorientated at 3 (instead of 9), similar-ish looking hands with 200 meter depth rating.

Although on paper the case is listed at 42mm, 3mm smaller then the 'full' sized turtles at 45mm, it does look on the smallish side. The narrative is that SEIKO had positioned this as a uni-sex model.

All said, i suspect for lacking of a better name, fans have bestowed on it the 'baby turtle' title because the more i look at it, the less turtle-ish it appear and before i forget, for all you SEIKO/PADI series collectors out there, here is one more for you.
